There is something about stripes and mustard

Vero Moda skirt, GAP tee, H&M shoes, Gifted necklace
Hey look, my knees are purple!

In our Philosophy class we talked about the public space and how we don't use it anymore. It has become a danger zone where we humans don't like to be in, we try to cross it as invisible as possible. Our teacher encouraged us to do something unexpected, to stand out, to use the public space in a unique way. I put his words into action and went out on this warm spring evening to take my photos in a busy spot. Awkward stares galore! In a few months we have a philosophy assignment and some of my classmates chose to do an invisible theathre. A thing where you try to evoke reactions from an ignorant public. The Candid Camera way. This might make for a fun experiment!

Summer in March

Monday, March 26, 2012

Zara dress, Old Navy bag, Teva sandals, Twce as Nice earring

This is not what I would normally wear on an average day in March. The weather was more than good the past weekend and the boyfriend and I enjoyed it to the fullest. We went on a stroll through the city and had ice creams, we accidentally ended up at the Semini celebration and a wedding. On our way home Kenneth took these photos of me while we were enjoying the soft breeze near the water. Ah, this is what I'd call the good life!

On Fridaynight we were sitting on the couch watching tv when Kenneth suddenly asked if there wasn't a movie that I wanted to see. "Oh, yes there is sweetie, but you're gonna hate it". Half an hour later we were in the theathre waiting for The Hunger Games to begin. We both loved it! It is the best movie I have seen in a while, but I'll always love the books more. Have you read them? And because I'm curious like that, what team are you on? I'm team Gale, fo sho!

Marc O'Polo 10 pieces launch party

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Katja - Laurein - Kim // photo taken by NoƩmi
Last week Kim, Laurein and I went to Antwerp to attend the Marc O'Polo 10 pieces launch party. The store was overcrowed with models, famous Belgians and ofcourse... bloggers. I am not proud to say this: I didn't know any of them! I felt so bad after that night! The next morning I sat behind my desk, browsing all the blogs we have in our Facebook community. Next time, I come prepared!

Because of the crowd it was pretty hard to get photos from the actual clothing line. I was almost too scared to pull out my camera because there were people everywhere and I didn't want to get my lens broken. It's new, you know. There were cute breton striped dresses, pretty floral and dotted things and awesome wedges that I didn't photograph. As a non-working student, Marco O'Polo is way out of my price range, but a girl can dream right?

If you want to learn more about the brand you can visit their website

There is sunshine in these photos... and bare legs!

Zara Dress and Cardigan, Mango Belt, H&M shoes, Vintage clutch
I always admired April for the pretty glow she has in almost all of her photos. When I noticed the low, warm sun this particular late afternoon I knew I had my chance. I don't have the best lens to capture the light perfectly but I consider this a start. And I'm loving it!
The weather has been delightful the past week and I believe Spring is finally here to stay. In my mind, I am making plans that include yummy foods (BBQ tiiiime!), long walks, small getaways and ofcourse a lot of sunshine. But before the good life can start I have a million deadlines coming up in the next two weeks. Stress is building up here, folks! I can't wait for my Spring break!

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Pop it, Lock it, Polkadot it

Thursday, March 15, 2012

F21 dress (worn as top), GAP jeans, H&M shoes, Zara Cardigan, Springfield clutch
I have a love/hate affair with this polkadot dress. It's a tad bit short for me to wear as a dress and I better wear a bodycon skirt underneath if I don't want any Marilyn moments. On the other hand it is really cute. While deciding if I was going to throw it out it suddenly hit me. "I can totally tuck it in my jeans!" I thought. I love how it looks and if I find a way to hem the sheer fabric, I might just turn it into a top. Any tips on how to do this?

I got an email from a curious reader who wanted to know what it was that I got for the boyfriends birthday last week. We all know how the love of a man goes through his stomach, right? So I thought I'd give him a Vivabox that he could spend on a dinner (for two, ofcourse!) with Spanish tapa's! He loved it and is now trying to get me to cook some of the tapa's that are in the little cookbook that came with the box. I am not a kitchen princess at.all. so I hope I don't get him sick or something, haha. Wish me luck!

I rescheduled the post I had planned to later tonight. For a good reason. I'd like to take a moment of silence.

While we we're sleeping, having dreams about tomorrow, tragedy struck our community. On Tuesdaynight a Belgian schoolbus crashed in Sierre, Switserland. On board we're 52 people, of which 28 have lost their lives. 22 young children and 6 adults. They were on their way back home from vacation. My thoughts go out to the families and relatives of the victims. That their light may always shine.

Little Black Dress

Monday, March 12, 2012

Zara dress, Stradivarius belt, BOO! shoes, Twice as Nice earrings
I've been eager to share this dress with you guys! I meant to wear it without tights but I couldn't hold myself, haha. Actually, the boyfriend picked it out at Zara when we were in Koblenz. My boyfriend knows what works! It came with an ugly little bow belt that I immediately replaced with this cognac wrap belt from Stardivarius. This dress has everything I look for in a LBD: soft fabric, the perfect length, sublte pleats. I've always felt like black dresses compliment my white skin. That's the reason why next to purple, black dresses are the most represented in my wardrobe. I just can't get enough!

Every year when spring comes around, I feel the need to wear big, bold statement jewelry. I spotted these chandelier earrings in the early spring collection but, you know, empty wallet! When I got a giftcard for the store I knew I had to get these. They're a bit heavy to wear all day but the bright colours melt my heart and they go so well with my spring wear. I can't wait to wear them with that other gorgeous Zara dress I got a while ago. But that one will have to wait for another time!

Happy birthday, my love!

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Tomorrow this pretty face turns 21! I think I've found the perfect gift for him and he's been asking me what I got him for days now, but my lips are sealed. Sometimes I wonder if he will ever grow up! The one thing I never wonder about is how much I love him. I love this kiddo with all my heart and will do, for a loooong, long time. Happy birthday sweetheart ♥

To celebrate we are going to see one of his favorite stand-up comedians, Alex Agnew, on Friday and on Saturday we have planned a family dinner. It'll be a weekend full of fun, cheek squeezes and too wet kisses!

Smooches!

Who said that redheads can't wear red?

Wearing: Zara dress, H&M Cardigan, Springfield necklace, SIX ring, Footwork boots

Our weeked in Germany ended in a minor key. Yesterday, both Kenneth and I woke up with the flu. I can't remember the last time I felt this terrible! As soon as we got home I snuggled up in bed and slept for 18 hours on end. I already feel a lot better this morning, my bloodpressure is back up and I can eat a little too. I hope I  get better soon so I won't have to miss to many classes and  I'll be back with a new post on Thursday! I hope your week has started of better than mine!

Bad Hair

Thursday, March 1, 2012

Dry, frizzy, split ends and no real "do". Oh boy, oh boy. I seriously need to get to the hairdresses ASAP! I can always feel when it's time for a new cut. I'm not sure what to do with my bangs though... They are pretty long at the moment. I've had them sideways for years and I was thinking about trying something totally different this time. But I am SO scared! Do you guys have any ideas? What sort of bangs do you think would look good on me?

Wearing: GAP jeans and tee || Zara vest || gifted ring || H&M shoes and belt
These are the new GAP jeans and striped tee I bought in Lille last week. Someone commented that it is totally legit to buy a striped tee in France (eventhough you already have 4)  and I couldn't agree more! Talking about trips, I'm going to Germany for the weekend! I have no idea where exactly we're going nor what there is to see but my mom said something about a river valley, little towns and an old fortress, so it sounds good to me! This is what I love about living in Europe. There are so many different and pretty places to discover and you only have to drive for "a few" hours. On top of my bucketlist is a roadtrip in the USA... . We always want what we can't have afford, don't we?

I'll see you guys after the weekend!

Happy March!
